
Carolyn A. Roberts earned her Bachelor of Arts from University of Michigan-Dearborn with a double major in psychology and sociology. She has a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling, with a concentration in marriage and family counseling, and a doctorate in Instructional Technology, both from Wayne State University of Detroit, Michigan.
Carolyn has 40 years of experience as a Limited Licensed Psychologist. She provided counseling for adults, seniors, and youth for twenty-five years and served as an educator for twenty-nine years at Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. She was a Commissioned Minister at Christian Church Disciples of Christ for five years.
She has a passion for helping others gain greater self-awareness, grow spiritually, heal and repair relationships with others. Her approach is humanistic, person-centered, and insight oriented. She is strength focused and values the inherent potential in all people. She creates a warm, non-judgmental environment for clients to share their life stories. It is her nature to be patient and compassionate, meeting the client wherever they are on their uniquely personal journey.
She counsels clients addressing issues such as anxiety; depression; stress management; grief and loss; life transitions; spiritual formation; childhood trauma; aging; relationship difficulties; compassion fatigue; and major baby boomer issues. She offers individual, couples, family, and Christian counseling.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family. Her hobbies are traveling, reading, researching, writing, creating educational booklets, and walking in nature with her beloved trees or a body of water surrounding her.
