Jennifer B. Mainka, PhD, LP

Dr. Jennifer Mainka received Masters and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Eastern Michigan University. After graduation, she gained clinical experience at the University of Michigan and Bowling Green State University counseling centers, as well as at the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Hospital. Her research and published materials focused on anxiety and trauma, and her clinical work centered on individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, and transitions. Dr. Mainka has since worked in private practice, where she has expanded her specialties to include couples therapy as well as infertility, grief and loss, and depression.

In her own practice, Dr. Mainka enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families to enhance their relationships and alleviate fears & sadness. She has trained other professionals, care providers, and service groups in communication strategies and enjoys teaching both individuals & couples to better communicate and connect. Dr. Mainka also offers Christian therapy for individuals who wish to use Biblical principles and faith to aid their growth.

Dr. Mainka grew up in and now lives in Brighton with her husband of sixteen years and their four children. She enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and spending time with her family.
