Co-Parenting Counseling

Due to the often confrontational nature of divorce, co-parenting with an ex following a divorce can lead to many problems. Common struggles include inconsistency in rules, expectations, rewards, gifts, and time spent with their child or children. Other times parents work very well together following a divorce, but experience trouble when a new significant other enters the picture and takes on a role of authority or care-giving in the child’s life.

These are struggles that impact the parents, the child, and both families involved. Many couples divorced because they could not communicate or compromise in their marriage, so co-parenting following a divorce can feel even more difficult. At Renewed Relationships, we work with parents to set goals for the parenting process and turn the focus toward the child and away from their feelings toward each other. We help parents navigate the tricky process of communicating for the benefit of their child. If you are going through a divorce, are considering divorce, or have been divorced for some time, we can help you with co-parenting.
