Therapy FAQs

Do you offer Telehealth?

We do offer both telehealth and in person therapy. All of our therapists have been trained in the effective and ethical use of Telehealth for therapy. We use a confidential platform for Telehealth, providing you with the convenience of meeting from home or work at a time that fits with your schedule. Patients who utilize office visits may also easily switch to Telehealth in cases of illness or bad weather.

How does therapy at Renewed Relationships work?

At Renewed relationships, we use a collaborative, direct approach to help you develop the skills you need to make desired changes in your life. Through various therapeutic techniques, we will work with you to set treatment goals and work toward them. Eventually, treatment will end when you feel confident in your ability to continue applying the skills and gains you have earned outside of therapy.

How much time will this take?

Each patient and their needs are evaluated on an individual basis. Regular sessions are 45 minutes long, and most people choose to come weekly. While it is difficult to estimate how long it will take for individuals to meet their treatment goals, your therapist can usually give you an estimate early in treatment.

Does insurance cover therapy?

Many insurances offer mental health coverage, and we encourage you to contact your insurance company to clarify your exact type of coverage. We accept in-network carriers of Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Aetna, Cofinity, Priority, and Magellan. If you have a different insurance carrier that offers out-of-network reimbursement, we will discuss options with you for reimbursement. For those patients for whom insurance is not an option, we offer affordable pricing for appointments.

I have tried therapy before and found it unhelpful. What is different about your practice?

At Renewed Relationships, we operate on the belief that there is always hope for renewal: for your relationships, your emotions, and your life. We use cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, emotionally focused therapy, and solution focused therapy which helps you identify patterns of unhelpful thought or behavior and learn the skills needed to overcome them in daily life. Our direct approach puts the focus on moving forward, rather than remaining stuck in old patterns. While we emphasize the importance of the past in impacting your current emotions and reactions, we also work with you to be more present-focused and engaged in your life.

I am ready to get started. What now?

Choosing to start therapy is a strong step forward. You can call (810) 522-0785 or contact us through our website form. Please keep in mind that we cannot answer any clinical questions through our contact form, and submitting a form does not create a counselor-patient relationship. We will attempt to get back to you by the next business day. We usually offer appointments within a week of your initial contact.
